Casinos – Types of players
Going to a casino
can be much fun – not only because of the thrill when waiting for
the right number to fall on the roulette wheel or when showing down
your cards at the poker table. Taking a glass of champagne and
leaning back while taking a look at the different people can be a
very interesting exercise as well!
See, there we have the bon vivant. He just came to celebrate the
evening and to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine just like you now.
Not spending much money, he doesn’t even care when losing a bet
and is mostly here to talk to other people and to have a nice time.
You find him at the roulette table saying “unlucky at cards, lucky
in love”.
His wife, though, is not so happy as he, at the same time, is now
staring at the hot blonde at the craps table who is totally naked,
screaming “I win, I win!!”. Then she takes all the money from
the table, dresses and walks off. One dealer, still very confused,
ask the other one: “What did the dices show anyway?” “I dunno,”
the other one answers, not less confused, “I thought you were
paying attention.”
Have you noticed all those nerds all over the place? People with
thick glasses and little notebooks which they move away quickly,
nervously, when the dealers look at them? Of course the dealers know
them, but they don’t care. Because nerds, after all, have no clue
that writing down how often “red” has appeared on the roulette
table doesn’t get you any further with predicting the next number.
But there are more people to look at: The compulsive gambler at
the slot machines, the student in jeans who just passed by to get
drunk with his mates, the professional poker player, the novice
poker player who is taken out by the professional one etc. But
before I check those out, I’ll get me another drink!
