Cleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors – Game 5

Cleveland Cavaliers at Golden State WarriorsCleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors – Warriors with 3-1 lead in NBA Finals

The Cleveland Cavaliers who were facing a sweep, defeated the Golden State Warriors on their home court to put the NBA Finals at 3-1. The Cleveland Cavaliers are under pressure and put together an inspired performance in Game 4.  The Cavs rushed out to a big lead early and then cruised to the win. Cleveland picked up the win  based to an unbelievably efficient offense. The Cavaliers buried 24 three pointers in Game 4, which set an NBA Finals record. They shot a blistering 53.3 percent from 3 point land. Irving, Kevin Love (6-of-8) and J.R. Smith (5-of-9) led the way. Cleveland led through out the whole game and has finally picked up some momentum in the NBA Finals. Cleveland has played much better in the past two games.  The Cavs really needed a split to get back in this series.

Kevin Durant led the way for the Warriors in Game 4, finishing with 35 points. Both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson both struggled from the field. Golden State shot only 28.2 percent from three-point range in the contest. The Golden State Warriors are still favored to win Game 5. They are up 3-1 and is aiming to wrap up the series at home next time out. The Warriors have been dominant at home throughout the postseason despite struggling last time out.  Best Sports Site Blog thinks there is no way the Cavs shoot that well again.  The Dubs should be better from the field when they go home and should leave this one crowned NBA champions.

The game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors is scheduled to take place on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 9:00 p.m. ET at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. The matchup will be broadcast on ABC.

Golden State Warriors at Cleveland Cavaliers square off Wednesday night

The Golden State Warriors are up 2-0 in the series after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 132-113 on Sunday night. The Cavaliers get to go home and aim to rally like they did on the way to last year’s title, but it won’t be easy against the elite playing level of the Golden State team. The game between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Quicken Loans Arena. The matchup will be broadcast on ABC.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are unable to keep up with the Warriors in the two games at Oracle. The Cavs return home for Game 3 and look lost and unsettled by Golden State’s movement on offense and defense. In Game 2 on Sunday Golden State shot 51.7 percent from the floor and 41.9 percent from three-point range, and if they continue to shoot that well the Cavs are going to have to be on fire to stay competitive. Kevin Durant who was acquired last year from Oklahoma City has become a huge asset for the Dubs. In Game 2 of the NBA Finals, he scored 33 points while adding 13 rebounds and five blocks. Stephen Curry was also impressive, finishing with 32 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds.

For Cleveland, LeBron James had 29 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds for Cleveland, but Kyrie Irving struggled from the floor. Lebron James needs to be going at full throttle and could propel them to a victory. The Cavaliers are knowing their season is on the line. Another key thing will be good play from the role players on the team. Cleveland will probably lead most of the game. However, the Warriors are making their case as one of the best teams of all-time. Best Sports Site Blog thinks that Golden State should capture this game. This will give Golden State Warriors a  3-0  lead in this NBA final series.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors – Game 7

Cleveland Cavaliers at Golden State WarriorsCleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors for Final Game in NBA Finals

Well the NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors comes down to a one-game winner take all in Game 7.  LeBron James once again  put on a another magnificent performance in Game 6 to bring his team back to Oakland for the final game. The Warriors look frustrated and need to get their act back together if they want to see a second consecutive title. The title matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at 8 p.m. ET at Oracle Arena. The game will be broadcast on ABC.

The Cleveland Cavaliers win on Thursday was due to the performance put in by LeBron James. He carried his team to another victory with his second straight 41-point game. He also had 11 assists, eight rebounds, four steals and three blocked shots. The Warriors power forward Draymond Green who was suspended for the last game and returned for this one wasn’t enough to slow down James. Remember, no team has ever come back from a from a 3-1 deficit to win the NBA Finals.

The Golden State Warriors need to find an answer for James. James frustrated the Dubs and the MVP Steph Curry hurled his mouthpiece into the crowd. Curry needs to keep his mouthpiece in his mouth and concentrate on playing to best he can to win Game 7. The knee injury to center Andrew Bogut is going to put him out for the final game. Bogut was injured in Game 5 when J.R. Smith fell into Bogut and hyperextended his knee. Andre Iguodala replaced Bogut in Game 6 and tweaked his back during the first half. He came out of the game for a short period to get his back worked on. When he returned he was affected by back spasms that was very apparent. Best Sports Site Blog knows the Warriors have the homecourt advantage but the Cavs and LeBron have the confidence since they thoroughly dominated Game 5 in the Bay Area.

Golden State Warriors at Cleveland Cavaliers – Game 6

Golden State Warriors at Cleveland Cavaliers - Game 6Golden State Warriors at Cleveland Cavaliers for Game 6 – Warriors lead 3-2 in NBA Finals

The Cleveland Cavaliers got outstanding performances from LeBron James and Kyrie Irving to withstand elimination on the road in Game 5. This pushes this series against the Warriors to a sixth game back in Cleveland. The Cavs must win on their home court Thursday night to stay in and push this series to Game 7. No team has overcome a 3-1 deficit to win the NBA Finals. The game between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers will start at 9 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Quicken Loans Arena. The matchup will be broadcast on ABC.

The Cleveland Cavaliers was playing aggressive in Game 5 and had 28 points during fast breaks as opposed to the Warriors nine. During the second half, the Dubs looked seriously gassed. leBron James and Kyrie Irving, each scored 41 points to become the first set of teammates to top 40 points in a Finals game. James put on a show and overpowered Iguodala, drove past Harrison Barnes and shot over every defender the Warriors sent at him. James finished with 41 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists in a game.

The Golden State Warriors went with a small lineup and put Andre Iguodala in for the suspended Draymond Green. Rebounding was a problem that got worse for the Dubs when Andrew Bogut went down with a knee injury and couldn’t return. Green will be back for Game 6, and the Warriors sure will need him for his defense and rebounding ability. Curry and Klay Thompson couldn’t miss their 3-pointers in the first half , however, in the second half, the results were much different. The Warriors missed 18 of 21 three-point shots during the second half of Game 5. They only shot 14 of 42 from behind the arc, which is just 33 percent. Golden State was just shooting poorly in the second half. Best Sports Site Blog thinks with Green back in the lineup and their shooting percentage coming back, there’s a chance the Warriors could take the Cavs on the road.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors – Game 5

Warriors-Cavaliers-NBA-basketballCleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors – Warriors take 3-1 lead in NBA Finals

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers on their home court to go up 3-1 in the NBA Finals. The Cleveland Cavaliers know they are under pressure now, because no team has ever come back from being down 3-1 in the Finals. LeBron James and company will do their best to try to prevent that from happening on Monday night in Game 5. The game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors is scheduled to take place on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 9:00 p.m. ET at Oracle Arena. The matchup will be broadcast on ABC.

The Golden State Warriors along with MVP Stephen Curry had a great game in Game 4 on Friday night. They set an NBA Finals record by making 17 three-pointers. This was the first time in this series that Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry was smoking hot. They combined to go 18 of 39 from the field and 11 of 22 from long range. Curry scored 38 points, while Thompson had 25.  If these two players have an offensive scoring game like they had in Game 4, Cleveland is going to be in a lot of trouble.

The Cleveland Cavaliers big problem in Game 4 was its lack of offensive production in the second half. The team shot poorly in the second half and only scored 29 points in the first 20 minutes of the half. The good news for Cleveland is that Kevin Love was able to play in Game 4 though it’s tough to say he played much of a role. He was relatively quiet and scored 11 points off the bench and had five rebounds. The other big issue for the Cavs is their starters are playing too many minutes. Smith, Irving and James each played at least 44 minutes, and James was on the floor for 46 of the 48 minutes. James looked like he ran out of gas in the fourth quarter. Top Sports Blog thinks if the Cavs play their starters  that many minutes in Game 5, the Dubs will run away like they did at the end of Game 4.

Golden State Warriors at Cleveland Cavaliers – Game 4

nba-finals-Cleveland-Cavaliers-vs-Golden-State-WarriorsGolden State Warriors at Cleveland Cavaliers – NBA Finals lead cut to 2-1

The Cleveland Cavaliers came back on their home court and blew out the Golden State Warriors 120-90 to take Game 3 of the NBA finals on Thursday. The Golden State Warriors fell behind quickly and were unable to get it back together against a galvanized foe. The Cleveland Cavaliers now have a shot to even out the NBA Finals with the Golden State Warriors in quick order on Friday night. The game between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers is scheduled to start at 9:00 p.m. ET on Friday, June 10, 2016, at Quicken Loans Arena. The matchup will be televised on ABC.

The Cleveland Cavaliers took two games to figure out how to stick with the small lineup of the Warriors. LeBron James was playing power forward spot almost exclusively in Game 3, and it was a winning combination for sure. James took over the same way we saw him do so in the Finals last year. He played amazing defense on Stephen Curry as he has all series long, and clearly made up for Kevin Love being out due to NBA’s concussion protocol. LeBron James and Kyrie Irving combined for 62 points, 15 rebounds, 14 assists, two steals and two blocks as the Cleveland Cavaliers hammered the Golden State Warriors.  Also, Shooting guard J.R. Smith shot 5-for-10 from beyond the arc and scored 20 points.

The Golden State Warriors won Games 1 and 2, but Curry and Thompson wasn’t a big factor in the scoring for the first two games. Neither Thompson or Curry has made it to the 20-point mark in this series, and neither one has played more than 36 minutes in a game yet in the Finals. We are still waiting for Curry and Thompson to start getting into the act. The Cavs was playing with its smallest lineup of the series in Game 3 for most of the time and out rebounded the Dubs 52-32. It was the Warriors rebounding advantage against Oklahoma City, that gave fits to Oklahoma City.  Best Sports Site Blog thinks if the Cavs rebounding advantage keeps up in Game 4, we’re going to be headed back to Oakland with the NBA Finals evened up.

Golden State Warriors at Cleveland Cavaliers – Game 3

Golden State Warriors and Cleveland CavaliersGolden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers square off Wednesday night at Quicken Loans Arena

The Golden State Warriors are up 2-0 in the series after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 110-77 on Sunday night. The Warriors defense has completely shut the door on Cleveland’s potent offense. The game between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Quicken Loans Arena. The matchup will be broadcast on ABC.

The Cleveland Cavaliers were unable to do anything in the two games at Oracle. The Cavs return home for Game 3  the Cavs looked lost and unsettled by Golden State’s movement on defense. In Game 2 on Sunday the Cavs shot 40 percent from the paint and only 4 of 17 on three-point shots. They missed 24 of their shots in the paint area. Also, power forward Kevin Love left in the third quarter and entered the league’s concussion protocol after taking an elbow to the back of the head. James is trying to carry the load and not getting the help that he needs from his teammates. The Cavs return to their home floor and need to find some answers fast. Best Sports Site Blog believes Game 3 could go either way depending on the strategy the Cavs use in this game. Better ball movement by Cleveland, instead of the isolation game that doesn’t work, will go a long ways in getting the Cavs back in this series.

The Golden State Warriors are swarming around LeBron James making it  difficult for him to do what he does best. The Dubs has won seven straight against Cleveland dating back to the last three games of the 2015 Finals.  Golden State has completely shut the door so far in this series against the Cavs. The Cavaliers are only shooting 37 percent from the field in the first two games. So far the story has been the Warriors defense, and some of it is the Cavs’ offense.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors – Game 2

Cleveland Cavaliers at Golden State WarriorsCleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors – Game 2 on Sunday

The Golden State Warriors used their bench who had an outstanding game and beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 114-89 in Game 1. The worst thing was the fact that Dubs superstars didn’t even show up and they still won by 15 points. The Cavaliers wanted this rematch, and now they’ve got it. The Cavaliers now know they have to do a better job of locking down Golden State’s reserves. The Cavs will get back to the ball movement and three-point shooting that carried them thus far. The matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors is scheduled for Sunday, June 5, 2016, at 8 p.m. ET at Oracle Arena. The game will be broadcast on ABC.

The Cleveland Cavaliers did a nice job and put LeBron James on Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry in Game 1 which certainly took each of them out of their games. Thompson and Curry combined for just 20 points on 8 of 27 shooting, and each had to knock down a late three-pointer just to get there. The Warriors bench was the story Thursday night. Shaun Livingston made a team-high 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting. Andre Iguodala had 12 points and knocked down two of his four shots from 3-point land. Harrison Barnes made 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Leandro Barbosa had 11 points by making all five of his shots. The Warriors outscored the Cavs 54-42 in the paint. One of the reasons for this is because Lebron James was guarding the perimeter and allowed for missed shots to be quickly put back up and in by Golden State’s role players.

Best Sports Site Blog believes the Cleveland Cavaliers will get better.  They will have to adjust to the depth of Golden State’s bench, which did a number on the Cavs Thursday. When you hold Curry and Thompson to a combined 20 points, you shouldn’t lose by 15. We suspect the Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue to play Lebron James at the offensive end to dominate scoring and pass the ball only when needed.  He should be putting up more shots and punishing the Warriors at the rack.

Portland Trail Blazers at Golden State Warriors – Game 5

Portland Trail Blazers at Golden State WarriorsPortland Trail Blazers at Golden State Warriors with Stephen Curry back in form

The Portland Trail Blazers took advantage in Game 3 when the Golden State Warriors MVP Stephen Curry was out of the lineup. Now that he’s back, the Dubs are ready to do what they can do and take away with any suspense in their series with the Blazers. Game 5 between the Portland Trail Blazers and Golden State Warriors is scheduled for Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at 10:30 p.m. ET at Oracle Arena. The matchup will be televised on TNT.

The big story of the day heading into Monday’s Game 4 was how Stephen Curry would perform after a 15-day layoff due to a MCL sprain in his right knee. Curry was slow to start which was expected after the big layoff. He didn’t start the game and just shot 6 of 18 from the field with no three-pointers for 13 points in the first three quarters. Then something happened to Curry in the fourth quarter. Curry caught on  fire in the fourth and was blistering hot in overtime. He shot for 40 points in 37 minutes. Included were 17 points in overtime, setting a NBA record for extra-period scoring. No question about Curry’s health anymore, he’s back. the Warriors coach Steve Kerr told the post game press that Curry will start on Wednesday.

The Portland Trail Blazers are a very good team and they have not been blown out in this series. They have led the Warriors at the half time intermission for the third straight game. The Warriors defensive pressure in Game 4 seemed to break down the Blazers in the fourth quarter and into overtime on Monday. Portland still hung around even when Damian Lillard missed 21 of his 30 field goal attempts and C.J. McCollum didn’t do much better. Best Sports Site Blog believes the Warriors are back in top form with Curry back in the lineup.  It’s a good bet that they will clinch a spot in the West finals in Game 5 of the series on Wednesday.

NBA Champions 2015 – Warriors Win Title Over Cavaliers 105-97

nba champions

Congrats to the Golden State Warriors, the NBA’s Champions!

The Golden State Warriors launched some 8,900 shots this season. They attempted layups and 3-pointers, runners and elbow jumpers. They dazzled fans and overwhelmed opponents. But every time the ball left their fingertips, the Warriors seemed to be building toward something bigger and better, toward the brightest stage and the grandest prize.

The Warriors were chasing history, a journey they completed Tuesday at Quicken Loans Arena with a 105-97 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 6 of the N.B.A. finals.

Golden State celebrated its first N.B.A. championship in 40 years when the final buzzer sounded, the players forming a frantic mob at center court as silence fell over the sellout crowd. The Warriors won the final three games of this best-of-seven series, countering every move that the Cavaliers made — and all the points, rebounds and assists that LeBron James could produce.

The dynamic of the 2015 NBA Finals changed when Warriors coach Steve Kerr inserted Andre Iguodala into the starting lineup. Iguodala made such an impact in helping Golden State win the NBA title that he took home NBA Finals MVP honors. Stephen Curry may lead the way offensively for the Warriors, but Iguodala played a massive role at both ends of the court for the new NBA champions.

Iguodala hadn’t started a game all season until he joined the starting five for Game 3. The Warriors didn’t lose again. He spent the series serving as the primary defender on LeBron James, and while James put up huge numbers, Iguodala did an admirable job defending and came up with several huge defensive plays in key moments against James. His defensive effort was valuable enough, but Iguodala also found his outside shot during the series and became a major offensive contributor.

Iguodala beat James by a 7-4 vote to win Finals MVP honors.
