LA Galaxy coming to Providence Park to take on Portland Timbers on Saturday
The Los Angeles Galaxy are coming to the Portland Timbers turf and Portland needs a win in order to help its chances to make the playoffs. The Timbers has been one of the best teams at home this season. The Galaxy have had a hard time in Portland, only winning one time on the Timbers home turf in their history. The fixture between the Portland Timbers and LA Galaxy is scheduled to start on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at 3:30 p.m. ET at Providence Park in Portland, OR. The matchup will be televised on ESPN.
The LA Galaxy are in good form and have recently gone five straight matches without a defeat. The LA Galaxy have the best goal differential of any team is allowing less than a goal a game. The goalkeeper Brian Rowe has been in great form. He has now gone three games without allowing a goal. LA Galaxy midfielder Steven Gerrard is one of the best set-up men in the league. He has seven assists in the MLS this season and is now tied for fourth. LA Galaxy forward Robbie Keane has recently returned from Euro 2016 and scored two goals in the three games he played in. He has led in scoring in every season since 2012.
The Portland Timbers have been in good form this season and they are 7-2-2 at home. The Timbers forward Fanendo Adi is the leading goal scorer with 10 goals to his name. Adi has the strength and size to give him the ability to be a tough player to defend, and opposing teams sometimes overplay him. The Timbers midfielder Diego Valeri is also another great goal scorer. Valeri will take lots of shots to the net from anywhere on the pitch. The Galaxy will have to defend against him when he’s making a run, or else he will shoot all game long. Best Sports Site Blog believes both Portland and LA have been in good form playing as of late and have been playing extremely well. The Timbers has an unbeaten streak now at nine. We think Portland will be difficult to beat at home and extend their unbeaten streak to 10.

LA Galaxy host their in-state rivals, the San Jose Earthquakes, at the StubHub Center
The LA Galaxy play their rivalry the San Jose Earthquakes at home on Sunday. The Galaxy continue to play great at home where they’re 4-1-0 this season. Their only weakness that seems to be keeping them from the top of the chart in the Western Conference is their bad form on the road. The game between the LA Galaxy and the San Jose Earthquakes is scheduled for Sunday, May 22, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at the StubHub Center. The fixture will be televised on FOX Sports 1.
The LA Galaxy at home have recently beat New England 4-2 and Real Salt Lake 5-2. The Galaxy haven’t lost since March 12, however they do have a 1-2-0 record on the road. The team doesn’t have a lot of injuries right now. Forward Alan Gordon is out of the fold with a groin injury. He probably won’t start, but may be able to play 10 or 20 minutes in this upcoming match.
The San Jose Earthquakes don’t have good form on the road. All three losses that they have this year were on the road against Western Conference contenders. Their record on the road this season is 0-2-3. That may pose a problem in this match against the Galaxy. The Quakes have a number of injuries. Midfielder Marc Pelosi is out and struggling with tendinitis in the knee. Midfielder Cordell Cato is out with a hamstring injury. Defender Clarence Goodson and Forward Mark Sherrod are both out as well. Forward Quincy Amarikwa has a right hamstring injury and is questionable for this match.
Best Sports Site Blog has noticed that the home team has won each of the last four battles in this rivalry. The LA Galaxy forward Gyasi Zardes who scored twice in the first match of the year, could find himself in a lot of favorable positions again in this one. The Quakes defense is going to be really tested and we think it isn’t going to have the answers for all of the options LA is going to bring to this match.

Orlando City travel to Kansas to take on a reeling Sporting Kansas City
Sporting Kansas City has been a big disappointment so far this 2016 MLS season. Getting into the playoffs to challenge for the Major League Soccer Cup this year is more difficult than it should be for SKC. Sporting Kansas City right now is three points back with more matches played than any other team in the conference. This makes this upcoming game at home against Orlando City very important. Sporting is a strong team at home and is favored in this fixture. The matchup between Sporting Kansas City and Orlando City will take place on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. ET at Children’s Mercy Park. The fixture will be broadcast on ESPN.
Sporting Kansas City is not in good form right now. Goals have been far and few between and maybe forward Dom Dwyer will be able to score a goal after a slow last month. Sporting recently has a 1-0 loss to Colorado and a 2-0 loss at Houston, and it has gone seven matches in a row without a victory. This year SKC has just two wins out of five matches at home and that is a big concern. Sporting only has one injury concern at the moment. Defender Kevin Ellis is out for this match with groin injury.
Orlando City started the year in good form, but are starting to loose that form as of late. Orlando City had draws against New York and New England in consecutive weeks. Before that they lost 3-2 on the road to the Red Bulls. The real issue for the Lions right now comes from suspensions and not from injuries. The Lions midfielder Cristian Higuita has been suspended in this match for a red card he picked up against the Red Bulls. The Lions coach Adrian Heath has been suspended this week as well for complaining to an official during the draw at home against the Red Bulls. Best Sports Site Blog believes the Lions have the edge to win this match. Midfielder Kevin Molino is in good form right now with goals in consecutive matches.
