The LA Galaxy play their rivalry the San Jose Earthquakes at home on Sunday. The Galaxy continue to play great at home where they’re 4-1-0 this season. Their only weakness that seems to be keeping them from the top of the chart in the Western Conference is their bad form on the road. The game between the LA Galaxy and the San Jose Earthquakes is scheduled for Sunday, May 22, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at the StubHub Center. The fixture will be televised on FOX Sports 1.
The LA Galaxy at home have recently beat New England 4-2 and Real Salt Lake 5-2. The Galaxy haven’t lost since March 12, however they do have a 1-2-0 record on the road. The team doesn’t have a lot of injuries right now. Forward Alan Gordon is out of the fold with a groin injury. He probably won’t start, but may be able to play 10 or 20 minutes in this upcoming match.
The San Jose Earthquakes don’t have good form on the road. All three losses that they have this year were on the road against Western Conference contenders. Their record on the road this season is 0-2-3. That may pose a problem in this match against the Galaxy. The Quakes have a number of injuries. Midfielder Marc Pelosi is out and struggling with tendinitis in the knee. Midfielder Cordell Cato is out with a hamstring injury. Defender Clarence Goodson and Forward Mark Sherrod are both out as well. Forward Quincy Amarikwa has a right hamstring injury and is questionable for this match.
Best Sports Site Blog has noticed that the home team has won each of the last four battles in this rivalry. The LA Galaxy forward Gyasi Zardes who scored twice in the first match of the year, could find himself in a lot of favorable positions again in this one. The Quakes defense is going to be really tested and we think it isn’t going to have the answers for all of the options LA is going to bring to this match.
