The Detroit Pistons came close to upsetting the Cavaliers in Game 1. The Cleveland Cavaliers that featured Kevin Love as the lone big man pulled out the game by outscoring Detroit 30-18 in the final 11 minutes for a 106-101 win. The Cavaliers have now won as many games in which they trailed entering the fourth quarter as they did in the 2015 postseason. The duel between the Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers is scheduled to play at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Quicken Loans Arena. The game will be televised on TNT.
The Cleveland Cavalier’s Big Three of Lebron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love combined for 81 points in Game 1. All three made critical plays after the Pistons seemed to be making an attempt to pull off a stunning upset. Kevin Love is a very good power forward who can space the floor and pull defenders away from the basket, creating driving lanes for Irving and James. Kevin Love is also very good at the 3 point line. Love can also take advantage of smaller defenders in the post, making his way into the paint.
The Cavs knew that this first round matchup was going to be difficult because the Pistons are a decent team and provide matchup problems for them. The Cavs adjusted well in game 1 by moving Love to the five spot on the floor. The move worked and Cleveland outscored Detroit 30-18 to claim the Game 1 victory. Best Sports Site Blog thinks that Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy will make an adjustment for Detroit in game 2, however the Cavs will have too much firepower and will take a 2-0 series lead.
